Tara over at Tara’s Kitchen has been cooking with our organic Matcha. She’s baked up this delicious matcha cake – now it’s your turn. Here’s the recipe:
1 cup flour
2⁄3 cup sugar
1⁄2 cup butter
1 tablespoon Matcha green tea powder (I used OMGTEA)
1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
Cream butter in a bowl or food processor. Add sugar to the butter and mix well. Gradually add beaten eggs and mix well.
Sift flour, baking powder, and green tea powder together and add the flour to the egg mixture. Give it a good mix up so all the ingredients are combined.
Pour the batter into a buttered or lined loaf pan. Bake in preheated 340 degrees F/Gas 4 oven for about 30-40 minutes.
Leave to cool and serve with natural yoghurt and a berry compot some deliciously green sliced kiwi fruit or simply alongside a cup of (green) tea.
